Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers, founded in 1940 and headquartered in San Francisco, seeks an Entry-Level Designer to join our structural engineering teams across West Coast and Michigan offices. You will contribute to planning, analysis, and design of structural projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This role offers meaningful mentorship, exposure to seismic analysis and site visits, plus collaboration with clients and builders as you grow toward professional licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in structural engineering strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's in civil engineering with 1–2 years of highly technical structural design experience considered if proficiency equals advanced graduate work.
• Core technical proficiency demonstrated via advanced graduate coursework or project experience in: advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering (West Coast).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, analysis, and design of structural projects.
• Prepare analyses, contract documents, and deliverables under licensed engineers.
• Collaborate with clients and teams; participate in meetings and site visits.
