Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer | Designer to join our teams across multiple U.S. offices, including Los Angeles and the West Coast, with mentorship and growth opportunities.

You will contribute to planning, analysis, and design of structural projects, gaining exposure to site visits, client collaboration, and multidisciplinary delivery. Strong foundational knowledge and a drive to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Education strongly preferred: master’s in structural engineering.
• Alternative path: bachelor’s in civil engineering with 1–2 years of highly technical design experience.
• Core technical proficiency demonstrated through advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering (West Coast).
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.40+ and relevant transcripts.
• Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design under licensed engineers.
• Produce contract documents and project deliverables with quality.
• Engage in client communications and team collaboration.
• Participate in site visits to observe conditions and construction.
• Support development toward PE licensure and professional growth.
• Take ownership and contribute to project teams and office goals.
