Job summary

Qualitybuildings is seeking a Structural Drafter I to develop construction documents and BIM models using CAD/BIM tools. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and trades, create 2D/3D drawings, and prepare contract documents from foundations to framing. Site visits and adherence to drafting standards are required.

You will collaborate with the project team to ensure model accuracy, feasibility, and up-to-date documentation, while staying current with drafting technology.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong visualization skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings of building structures using CAD software.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Revise drawings based on client/engineer feedback.
• Research building codes to ensure drawings meet standards.
• Use AutoCAD or REVIT to create 2D/3D drawings with details.
• Generate 3D models for quantity takeoffs to aid proposals.
• Prepare detailed plans for complete structural contract documents.
• Stay updated on drafting software and technology.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure feasibility.
• Create and revise drawings/models using BIM.
• Attend meetings to discuss model accuracy and requirements.
• Maintain project documentation and status.
• Attend site visits for measurements and sketches.
• Adhere to drafting standards and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
