Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking a skilled culinary professional to wash, prepare, and cook hot and cold foods for on-campus dining. You will ensure quality, proper temperatures, and timely service while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a culinary arts degree and at least two years of related experience, with knowledge of allergens and dietary restrictions. This role offers full-time hours on campus, with competitive benefits and growth opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Washes, produces, cuts ingredients, and prepares hot and cold foods.
  • Ensures all food is of satisfactory quality and quantity and is prepared, served, and stored at proper temperatures and times.
  • Performs cooking duties including hamburgers, chicken, eggs, and other grill items, and cold foods for deli/salad bar.
  • Assists in maintaining sanitation and health and safety standards, including proper labeling, rotation, and storage of food items.
  • Prepares menu items according to product specifications and recipes.
  • Cleans and/or sanitizes cooking utensils, grills, ovens, hoods, and other kitchen equipment.
