Job summary

Alair Homes Alexandria is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support delivery of custom homes and residential renovations in Alexandria and the Metro DC area. The role pairs construction knowledge with systems literacy, aiming to grow into a larger PM role.

You will collaborate with the PM team to keep schedules, budgets, and project documentation on track while learning Alair’s processes and tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or related field.
• Solid knowledge of residential construction processes, materials, and sequencing.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software/systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear, professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
• Practical problem-solving skills and good judgment.
• Willingness to learn and grow into greater ownership of projects.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with construction/project management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, and documentation.
• Conduct job site visits and monitor progress, quality, and schedule.
• Track project details and follow up on outstanding items to keep work moving.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and team members.
• Identify potential issues and bring them to the Project Manager's attention.
• Maintain accurate project information using CM and digital systems.
• Assist with project meetings, updates, selections, and client communication.
• Learn Alair's project management processes and develop skills to independently manage projects over time.

The Role

As a Junior Project Manager, you will work alongside our experienced Project Management team to help coordinate residential construction projects from planning through completion.

You will help keep projects organized, communicate with clients and trade partners, track schedules and budgets, and make sure important details do not fall through the cracks.

You do not need to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone with a solid construction foundation who is capable of learning, taking ownership, and becoming increasingly independent.

The right person will be comfortable working with computers and project management systems and will bring a combination of construction knowledge, organization, communication, and follow‑through.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with construction management or project management software is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
