Job summary

Southland Industries’ Project Engineer position is for you! You will work on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects as you develop your skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build construction process.

This role involves handling project changes, change orders, procurement, and subcontractor participation while staying current on industry trends. A four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• ERP skills including inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills including CAD and Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to management.
• Manages change orders and ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment, materials and services; participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
