Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to initiate a career path in project management on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects, honing estimating, scheduling, and design within the design-build process.

The role emphasizes learning to assess project changes, manage change orders, and support procurement, with opportunities for professional development and growth in a 100% employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
• Basic ERP skills to inquire, review and print job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office products, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
