Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to begin a career path in project management on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects. You will develop skills in estimating, scheduling, and design within the design-build process.

You will support changes, procure equipment, and assist in selecting subcontractors while staying current on industry trends. A four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience is required to join our employee-owned team.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in engineering or applicable experience.
• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office products, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
