Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Decatur, AL is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to support routine designs in chemical, biochemical, and petroleum processing under supervision. You will apply safety standards, use CAD tools, and collaborate with project teams to meet design criteria.

You’ll help develop conceptual layouts, cost studies, and preliminary designs for construction, with travel as needed. Ideal candidates hold a related degree and may have EIT eligibility, plus up to one year

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine designs of less complex engineering assignments under direct supervision.
• Promote safety culture and apply safety concepts into process design.
• Familiarity with department standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Assist in producing detailed design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Coordinate with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure smooth information flow for project completion.
• Willing to travel as required for on-site work, project meetings, or training opportunities.
