Job summary

Hargrove is hiring a Process Engineer I in Birmingham, AL. The role involves performing routine designs under supervision, assisting with conceptual layouts, cost studies, and preliminary design work to support project teams across the chemical and biochemical sectors.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering, with an EIT registration preferred, and up to 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of chemical/biochemical process design engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Strong communication skills, in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine designs of less complex assignments under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient project solutions.
• Produce preliminary design estimates and material take-offs.
• Create detailed design calculations and sketches for construction materials.
