Job summary

HCEW MANAGEMENT SERVICES LLC is seeking a Jr Report Writer to support our data team by maintaining existing Power BI reports and handling new requests. The role blends on-prem and cloud data sources, focusing on data modeling concepts, report accuracy, and clear end-user communication.

You will monitor 70+ report assets, apply governance, and document reporting standards while collaborating with developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1-2+ years of relevant experience in report writing, dashboards, Power BI and/or Tableau, and data architecture fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with end users, tell data-driven stories, and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring more than 70 Power BI report assets and help ensure successful daily refreshes.
• Perform requested modifications or improvements to reports.
• Manage ticket queue for reported issues and/or new report requests.
• Assist in migrating existing reporting to match current report theme standards and ensure consistency.
• Work with developers to update existing reports based on newly modeled or cleaned data tables.
• Assist with assigning access to reporting audiences when needed.
• Gather reporting requirements from end users to clarify report objectives.
• Validate report results to ensure consistency and identify data inconsistencies or missing information.
• Apply data quality standards to support accurate and consistent reporting.
• Maintain report inventory including, report logic, business rules, refresh schedules and related documentation.
• Assist with Power BI workspace organization to support governance standards.
• Develop end user documentation for Power BI best practices within the organization.
• Provide basic end user-training on Power BI fundamentals.
• Assist with testing new or modified reports using end-user input.
