Job summary

Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited seeks a Senior Data/Reporting Engineer to modernize Power BI reporting for a key client. You will analyze reports and embedded logic, drive report rationalization, and contribute to transitioning analytics toward a unified semantic layer.

Collaborating with the client and Data Architect, you’ll be hands-on, data-driven, and able to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders to improve performance, maintainability and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in BI, data analytics, analytics engineering, or senior reporting roles.
• Hands-on Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL in enterprise reporting environments.
• Proven experience reverse-engineering existing reports to identify embedded business/data logic.
• Experience with report rationalization/modernization and semantic/shared data models.
• Databricks or equivalent cloud data platforms; Python and Azure DevOps/GitHub preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client and Data Architect to modernize Power BI reporting landscape.
• Analyze reports and embedded logic; support report rationalization and transition to a common semantic layer.
• Identify reusable data elements and improve reporting consistency, maintainability, and scalability.
• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
• Balance immediate reporting needs with long-term modernization goals in a collaborative, pragmatic manner.
