Job summary

AEP is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Jr in Cresap, WV to perform inspection, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and structures. You will assist in scaffolding setup, basic machining, and electrical work while following safety rules and clearance procedures.

The role requires an associate degree in engineering/energy tech or related experience, plus willingness to learn the line-of-progression and pass required assessments.

Qualifications

• Must have plant maintenance experience and knowledge of materials, practices, tools and rigging.
• Ability to read simple prints and specifications; learn to direct others.
• Must possess a valid state driver license and pass assessments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain plant equipment and systems.
• Install and construct scaffolding, rigging, and related supports.
• Perform non-code welding, cutting, and basic machining tasks.
• Follow safety rules and document conditions for clearances.
