Job summary

AEP is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Jr for its Regional Service Organization (RSO) in Winfield, WV. The role involves inspecting, maintaining and repairing plant equipment, scaffolding, rigging and basic machining tasks with travel up to 30%.

You will learn and apply set procedures while ensuring safety compliance. Ideal candidates have an engineering/industrial tech background or equivalent experience, plus hands-on maintenance skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, industrial or energy technology or equivalent experience.
• Two years of related work experience if using an associate or higher.
• HS diploma with four years related work experience also acceptable.
• HS diploma with two years military experience also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, erect and remove scaffolding and rigging for project needs.
• Perform metal cutting, welding, brazing and simple machining tasks as required.
• Work with electrical wiring, lighting and basic conduit maintenance up to 260V.
• Maintain and repair plant equipment, wear plates, belts, pumps, fans and related components.
