Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in the United States (West Virginia) seeks a maintenance and construction technician to support inspection, installation, repair and construction of plant equipment and structures. The role involves travel up to 30% and working within a Regional Service Organization (RSO).

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with plant maintenance, materials, practices, tools and rigging, scaffolding and blocking.
• Ability to pass an examination and maintain line-of-progression qualifications.
• Education paths include an associate degree or adequate related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, erect and/or remove scaffolding and rigging and assist in complex setups.
• Perform basic machining, drilling, tapping, and pipe threading tasks.
• Perform non-code welding and brazing for wear plates and fixtures.
• Perform electrical work such as terminating conductors and repairing circuits up to 260V.
• Operate mobile equipment and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow safety rules and participate in emergency training as required.
