Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Support the OEM Sales Manager in developing and executing growth strategies for existing and prospective OEM accounts.
  • Proactively contact customers and prospects toidentifynew applications, projects, and sales opportunities.
  • Conduct regular outbound sales calls and customer follow-up activities.
  • Schedule andparticipatein customer meetings, both virtually and in person.
  • Expand AMOT's presence within existing OEM accounts byidentifyingadditionalcontacts, departments, facilities, applications, and product opportunities.
  • Follow customer opportunities frominitialidentification through quotation, technical evaluation, follow-up, and order placement.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on open proposals and opportunities to help drive them toward closure.
  • Work toward progressively greater ownership of customer relationships, opportunities, and accounts as experience and product knowledge develop.

Product & Application Knowledge

  • Develop andmaintaina strong working knowledge of AMOT's products, applications, capabilities, and value propositions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of AMOT's core markets and the applications in which AMOT products are used.
  • Understand the fundamentals of engines, compressors,turbinesand other rotating equipment and how AMOT products interact with these systems.
  • Develop working knowledge of cooling systems, lubrication systems, temperature control, safety and shutdown systems, and other applications relevant to AMOT products.
  • Learn toidentifycustomer application requirements and recommendappropriate AMOTproducts and solutions.
  • Continuously expand technical and product knowledge through independent study, internal training, customer interactions, and collaboration with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor products, customer trends, and developments within AMOT's target markets.

CRM & Opportunity Management

Maintainaccurateandtimelycustomer and opportunity information within the company's CRM systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Documenting customer calls and meetings.
  • Maintaining customer and contact information.
  • Creating and updating sales opportunities.

Internal Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the OEM Sales Manager to prioritize accounts, opportunities, and customer activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing to support customer opportunities.
  • Engage technical resources whenadditionalproduct or application expertise isrequired.

Customer Focus: Develop strong customer relationships by understanding customer needs, applications, and businessobjectiveswhile providingtimelyand professional support.

Problem Solving: Identify customer challenges and opportunities and work collaboratively with internal resources to develop practical solutions that create value for the customer and AMOT.

Time Management: Effectively prioritize customer calls, meetings, opportunity follow-up, travel, CRM activities, and internal responsibilities whilemaintaininga high levelof responsiveness.

Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the OEM Sales Manager and across Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations to support customers and achieve businessobjectives.

Performance Metrics

Performance in this role will be evaluated using a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures. Success will be based on sales activity, opportunity development, revenue generation, customer development, product knowledge, and demonstrated growth as a technical sales professional.

Performance metrics include, but are not limited to:

  • Number and quality of outbound customer and prospect sales calls.
  • Number ofcustomerand opportunity meetings conducted.
  • Identification and creation of new qualified sales opportunities.
  • Revenue generated from assigned accounts and opportunities.
  • Accurate andtimelydocumentation of customer interactions, contacts, and opportunities within CRM.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of professional experience, preferably in sales, technical sales, engineering, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or a related field.
  • Strong desireto develop a career in technical sales and account management.
  • Technically inclined with the ability and desire to learn engineered products and industrial applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage activities, follow-up, and priorities.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to continuously learn new products, technologies, applications, and markets.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another technical discipline.
  • Previousexperience in technical sales, industrial sales, engineering, applications engineering, or account management.
  • Experience working with OEM customers.
  • Knowledge of engines, compressors, turbines, valves, controls, lubrication systems, cooling systems, or other rotating equipment.
  • Experience within the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Marine, Transportation, or Industrial markets.
  • Previousexperience with CRM-based opportunity and pipeline management.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travelapproximately 30-40% or more as business needs require.
  • Must be able to travel by commercial airline andpossessthe ability to obtain andmaintainall necessary documentationrequiredfor domestic and international business travel.
  • Mustpossessand maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel overnight for customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, training events, and internal meetings.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Junior OEM Sales Representative becomes an increasingly independent and capable member of the OEM Sales organization. They consistently generate customer activity, uncover new opportunities, expand AMOT's relationships within OEM accounts, and convert those activities into measurable revenue growth.

They develop a strong understanding of AMOT's products, markets, applications, and the rotating equipment our products support and are increasingly able to conduct customer conversations without relying on others to lead the discussion. They are curious, technically inclined, comfortable initiating conversations, persistent in following opportunities, and disciplined in documenting their activity within the CRM.

Over time, the successful individual develops from supporting the OEM Sales Manager into a trusted customer-facing salesperson capable of independently developing opportunities, managing customer relationships, and assuming greater responsibility for OEM accounts and revenue growth.
