Midland Industries seeks a Junior OEM Engineering Sales Account Manager to partner with senior leadership on strategic decisions and operations as we enhance quality programming and build capacity.

You will support sales strategy, engage customers, and collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Pricing to drive growth while maintaining strong technical knowledge of components and assemblies. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of technical sales or engineering experience.
  • Experience in Industrial OEM, Plumbing/PVF, Waterworks, or Irrigation wholesale markets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales management to identify new sales opportunities and execute plans.
  • Gather technical information from customers and develop solutions with internal teams.
  • Prepare quotations and coordinate with suppliers for components.
  • Travel to customers up to 50% to conduct facility line walks and engagement.
  • Support CRM updates and reporting, and help translate customer needs into product improvements.

Job description

Under the direction of the OEM Sales Application Engineer the Junior OEM Engineering Sales Account Manager will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team on strategic decision-making and operations as Midland Industries continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous opportunity for a OEM Sales Engineer to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Work closely with sales management to identify new sales opportunities through customer facility line walks.
  • Basic understanding of Industrial OEMs and general product workflows
  • Identify new sales opportunities, create sales action plans to pursue, and execute for successful closure of the opportunity.
  • Act as the primary customer contact on all new opportunities that meet minimum sales revenue targets. Provide sales direction and customer feedback for internal sales support staff (Application Engineering, Customer Service, and Senior Leadership).
  • Qualify and follow up on all marketing-generated sales leads.
  • Gather all required technical information from customers and collaborate with internal Midland sales support staff to develop an appropriate solution and prepare quotations.
  • Closely work with purchasing team and suppliers on sourcing efforts for customer product solution components
  • Review key account activity to analyze purchasing patterns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Interact and communicate with suppliers to secure quotes and required order quantities when needed.
  • Help create sales action plans and execute successful closure of the opportunity.
  • Understand customer technical requirements and recommend product solutions for application.
  • Gather all required technical information from customers and collaborate with internal Midland sales support staff to develop an appropriate solution and prepare quotations.
  • Review key account activity to analyze purchasing patterns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Interact and communicate with suppliers to secure quotes and required order quantities when needed.
  • Continuously improve customer experience while fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Contribute to CRM updates and reporting
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Pricing teams to improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Assist Sales Management, Product Management, Marketing and Senior Leadership with input into sales strategy, market trends, forecasting and new product development needs.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, product gaps, and operational improvements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience with CAD Modeling Systems (SolidWorks)
  • Understanding of various manufacturing methods and tolerances with a focus on injection/compression molding.
  • Mechanical Mindset
  • Basic understanding of miniature fittings (plastic and metal); check valves, filters, barbed & push-in fittings, etc...
  • Preferred technical selling/engineering role in engineered components
  • Effective and persuasive oral and written communication
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to navigate and use our company’s order-entry systems and CRM tool.
  • Exceptionally detail oriented and organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to travel to customers up to 50%
