Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience or equivalent
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification or certification pursued within six months of hire
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience troubleshooting basic and complex network, wireless, and VoIP systems
• Working knowledge of IT networks, server administration, data protection and disaster recovery
• Experience in packet capturing and interpretation
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Effective planning skills
• Experience generating performance analysis reports
• Experience with high-capacity routers and Ethernet switches
• Experience generating proposals
• Willingness to be on-call and respond after hours
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comprehensive knowledge of IP routing and T1/PRI/ISDN circuits

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot the district-wide network and VoIP systems
• Deploy, maintain, and manage network monitoring software to track LAN performance
• Analyze collected data, prepare network status reports, and collaborate with the Network Engineer for improvements
• Monitor network performance using diagnostic tools to identify errors and service disruptions
• Notify affected departments of outages and document network issues
• Configure network devices to implement design specifications (routing, VLANs, LANs) with security standards
• Use network monitoring tools to analyze user activity and resource utilization
• Prepare detailed reports to support capacity planning and network expansion
• Perform other duties as assigned
