Job summary

El Paso Community College (EPCC) seeks a Network Engineer to monitor and troubleshoot the district-wide network, configure devices, and manage VoIP systems. In-person on campus work is essential.

The role requires CCNA/CCNP or equivalent, a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ related experience, and strong communication skills to support security, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience.
• CCNA or CCNP certification or obtain within six months of hire.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with basic and complex network, wireless, and VoIP troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of IT networks, server administration, data protection, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience in packet capturing and interpretation.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Effective planning and multi-project management.
• Knowledge of IP routing and T1/PRI/ISDN circuits.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and manage network monitoring software to track LAN performance and report status.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot outages; escalate to technical contacts and notify affected departments.
• Configure devices across routing, VLANs, and LANs with security best practices.
• Analyze user activity and resource utilization; prepare capacity planning reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
