Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Engineer to join the IT Networking team, supporting routing, switching, VoIP and WiFi across the campus. You will install hardware, troubleshoot issues, perform wireless surveys, and maintain NAC security. Strong documentation, multitasking and communication skills are essential.

ITAR and background checks apply. Ideal candidates bring CCNA/CCNP or equivalent, and experience with Cisco/Arista gear, DNS/DHCP/SNMP, and network monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 3+ years of professional network engineering experience; OR 5+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Arista data center switches, Cisco WLCs, and related networking technologies
• Familiarity with OSI model, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP; ability to document work in ticketing systems

Responsibilities

• Procure, configure and install network hardware including switches, access points, UPS and PDUs
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues
• Plan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders for updates and maintenance
• Perform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and implement solutions
• Configure and troubleshoot NAC and security features
• Gather network requirements and create implementation plans with vendors
• Maintain IDF rooms and network documentation
• Monitor network health using tools and maintain inventories
