Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a seasoned Network Engineer to design, implement and support LAN and WAN infrastructures across clinical and campus environments. You will lead network projects, ensure performance, reliability and security, and partner with IT teams to align with organizational goals.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Information Systems, 3+ years in networks, and certifications such as MCP or CCNA.

Qualifications

• Three years of network, hardware, software and electronic equipment installation, support and maintenance.
• Two additional years managing Microsoft Windows networks and Active Directory or two years working with routers, switches and firewalls.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
• Preferred MCP or CCNA certification.

• Schedule - Shift - Hours Full Time - Days - 8-5 M-F

Under the general direction of the Network and Telecommunications Manager, leads the design, implementation and support of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN & WAN), Intra/Internet connectivity and telecommunications. Participates in the development of policies and standards. Under the general direction of the Network Manger, leads the efforts to ensure network stability, reliability, security and integrity.

Designs and implements scaleable network solutions for clinical and campus environments including: Network Management solutions, Network mapping, LAN/WAN infrastructure redesign and/or expansion of existing networks. Develops solutions and plans to converge voice, video and data. Performs performance and tuning tasks associated with network support and application performance in a local and wide area environment. Perform assignments in troubleshooting software and/or hardware problems for network-based systems, installation and project implementation.

Required Experience:

Work Experience

License/Registration/Certification

MCP, CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.

Education and Training

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field required.
