Qualifications

• Minimum of three years related molding plastics processing and maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in machine start-up and shutdown; knowledge of essential machine functions.
• Able to lift up to 30/50 pounds; basic data entry.
• Submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen; pass work physical and lift test.
• High School graduate or GED; must be able to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a variety of material handling, molding, finishing, and assembly equipment.
• Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments.
• Start up and shut down the molding machines.
• Operate forklift to do mold changes.
• Use forklift to move and organize molds.
• Fill out daily process records to control and maintain machine conditions.
• Conduct minor repairs and change inserts as necessary.
• Operate, repair, and maintain high-volume molding machines.
• Monitor production quantities for color change, mold change, and product completions.
• Execute activities within approved procedures and set priorities.
• Monitor scrap and implement changes to eliminate root causes.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping; promote safety, quality, and environmental awareness.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting production quality and efficiency.
• Provide recommendations to engineering for process improvements.
• Inspect machines hourly to ensure good quality parts and prevent defects.
• Report daily shift performances including safety, quality, labor hours, scrap, and first part approvals.
• Trouble-shoot support equipment (grinders, blenders, hopper loaders, chillers).
• Inform Production Lead of events affecting production flow.
• Communicate with incoming team members about shift performance and scrap.
• Take action to correct workplace hazards; perform duties as assigned.
