Job summary

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a variety of material handling, molding, finishing, and assembly equipment.
• Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments.
• Start up and shut down the molding machines.
• Operate forklift to do mold changes.
• Use forklift to move and organize molds.
• Fill out daily process records to control and maintain machine conditions.
• Conduct minor repairs and change inserts as necessary.
• Operate, repair, and maintain high-volume molding machines.
• Monitor production quantities for color change, mold change, and product completions.
• Execute activities within approved procedures and set priorities.
• Monitor scrap and implement changes to eliminate root causes.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping; promote safety, quality, and environmental awareness.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting production quality and efficiency.
• Provide recommendations to engineering for process improvements.
• Inspect machines hourly to ensure good quality parts and prevent defects.
• Report daily shift performances including safety, quality, labor hours, scrap, and first part approvals.
• Trouble-shoot support equipment (grinders, blenders, hopper loaders, chillers).
• Inform Production Lead of events affecting production flow.
• Communicate with incoming team members about shift performance and scrap.
• Take action to correct workplace hazards; perform duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Junior Process Technician is directly responsible for the setup and the correct processing of all machines and equipment to ensure alignment with the production schedule and productivity. Also responsible for preventative maintenance and supporting direct manufacturing activities to ensure that quality parts are produced effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a variety of material handling, molding, finishing, and assembly equipment. Examples: mold setup or cutter adjustments.
• Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments.
• Start up and shut down the molding machines.
• Operate forklift to do mold changes.

• Responsible for filling out the daily process records necessary to control and maintain machine running conditions.
• Conduct minor repairs and change inserts, as necessary.

• Execute all activities within the scope of approved procedures and set priorities necessary to accomplish pre-determined goals based on production needs.
• Monitor scrap being produced from process and effect changes needed to eliminate the root cause of waste.
• Maintain acceptable level of housekeeping by 5S standards in the assigned work area.
• Promote, attain, and maintain safety, quality, and environmental awareness and requirements in the area of responsibility.
• Identify and resolve issues in the assigned working area related to equipment, machines, personnel, process, training, and materials that conflict with obtaining maximum production quality and efficiencies.
• Provide recommendations to engineering about process improvement opportunities for processes, practices, equipment, performance, and efficiency of operations.
• Inspect machines hourly in the assigned working area to ensure production of good quality parts to prevent mass production of defective or unacceptable parts (scrap).
• Accurately report daily shift performances, including but not limited to safety, quality, labor hours, production tickets, scrap, and first part approvals.
• Must be able to troubleshoot support equipment (grinders, blenders, hopper loaders, and chillers).
• Inform the Production Lead, where necessary, of all events affecting the production flow.
• Communicate with on-coming team members concerning shift performance and scrap.
• Take action to promptly correct or remove all workplace hazards.
• Duties as assigned by management.
