Job summary

SECU in North Carolina is seeking an Associate Member Services Representative to gain foundational knowledge of branch operations and deliver exemplary member service through phone and in-person interactions.

You will handle routine transactions, cash handling, account maintenance, wire transfers, and basic account openings under supervision, while learning CXone and SECU products, staying compliant with policies, and supporting teammates with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree, CCUE Certification, or AA/AS via NC-CTP preferred.
• Consistently demonstrates SECU’s Core Values.
• Aptitude for meeting people and developing member confidence, respect, and trust in the Credit Union.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Must complete Core Module Program within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure member information remains confidential and accounts accessed only for business purposes.
• Follow security and control procedures.
• Serve members by processing transactions and balancing cash drawer.
• Adhere to SECU Check Acceptance Guidelines and Hold procedures.
• Greet and assist members in a courteous, professional manner via in-person, phone, and digital channels.
• Answer phones and assist members with service requests.
• Operate a drive‑through window as needed.
• Balance vault, ATMs, teller cash dispenser, and coin sorter.
• Evaluate daily mobile and ATM deposits.
• Verify cash deliveries and shipments.
• Interact with other departments to facilitate member requests.
• Organize, file and scan documents daily.
• Process wire transfers and foreign currency requests.
• Troubleshoot problems with accounts, cards, and online access.
• Review negative checks, NSFB, and Share Below $25 reports.
• Learn to open basic accounts under supervision; CXone knowledge.
• Learn Financial Advisory and Real Estate products and provide referrals as needed.
• Maintain daily/monthly records for reports (returns, forgeries).
• Maintain a positive attitude toward members and teammates; attend training; be punctual.
