Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering Organization. You will design and analyze defense hardware across radar, missile, and command platforms, from concept through prototyping to testing.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, generate 3D CAD models and drawings, validate with simulations, and support manufacturing and integration with suppliers. DoD clearance required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD to generate 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Mechanical design experience from coursework, research, competitions or projects.
• Experience may be obtained through coursework, research, or on-the-job activity.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and document mechanical components and assemblies per defense requirements.
• Create parametric 3D CAD models and 2D drawings; manage assembly hierarchies.
• Validate design via rapid prototyping, testing, and simulations.
• Support factory operations and suppliers with manufacturing and integration.
• Participate in design peer reviews and trade studies to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve mechanical hardware issues.
