Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an entry-level POWERTesting and Energization (PTE) Early Career Field Services Technician for our Texas project location. You will support field operations, assist with testing and inspection tasks, and learn electrical test practices under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, basic electrical testing exposure, and willingness to travel extensively. This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork across field sites in power systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in electrical testing or related job capacity.
• Some experience or interest in field service work, in medium/high voltage equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to participate in required safety and training sessions.
• Must be able to travel up to 80% and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic inspection and testing activities under supervision.
• Support protection and controls testing and data collection at field sites.
• Observe and learn site safety practices including proper PPE use.
• Report unsafe conditions or issues to supervisors.
• Maintain attendance and communicate effectively regarding assignments.
• Work cooperatively with crew members and stay professional in the field.
