Job summary

R.R. Cassidy is seeking a Junior Estimator in Beaumont, TX to support the estimating team by performing quantity takeoffs, gathering pricing and assembling bid documents for electrical, utility and infrastructure projects.

Working under the guidance of senior and lead estimators, this entry‑level role builds the technical and commercial skills needed to grow into a full estimator. The position requires a degree or related experience and proficiency with Excel, and reports to the Beaumont office

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in construction, estimating, or related field; internships count.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs; willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs of materials, equipment and labor from drawings.
• Request and compile vendor and subcontractor quotes; enter pricing into estimates.
• Assist senior estimators in building cost estimates using unit-cost databases.
• Review addenda, flag scope changes and missing information.
• Prepare bid documents and supporting backup for submission.
• Maintain organized bid files and cost databases.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits; document findings.
• Update cost databases with current pricing and project data.
• Participate in post-bid reviews and training.
