Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This role offers hands-on experience on water and wastewater projects while learning from seasoned engineers in a collaborative team.

You’ll contribute to design and implementation of facilities, sewers, pipelines, and other infrastructure, gaining exposure across project lifecycle under experienced guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Perform site assessments and field investigations to support project design and development.
• Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling.
• Adjust design parameters and develop solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Develop drawings, maps, presentations, and other project materials using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software.
• Collaborate with project teams and contribute to presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Support construction management activities and participate in fieldwork from planning through construction.
