Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This role offers hands-on experience on sustainable water and wastewater projects while learning from seasoned engineers in a collaborative team.

You will contribute to design and implementation of treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure under guidance, gaining exposure across project stages from planning to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years experience; domestic/international travel may be required.
• Equivalent direct related experience can substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of water and wastewater facilities, collections, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Perform site assessments and field investigations to support design.
• Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling.
• Adjust design parameters based on project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project docs.
• Develop drawings, maps, presentations using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel.
• Collaborate with project teams and contribute to client presentations.
• Support construction management and fieldwork across project lifecycle.
