Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer I for an onsite role in Indianapolis, US. You will contribute to embedded avionics software across the lifecycle, interfacing with displays, navigation, and mission planning systems.

Ideal candidates have STEM backgrounds, proficiency in C/C++/Java, and experience with Windows and scripting languages. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Able to work closely in a multi-discipline team daily.
• Strong Analytical skills.
• Developing and testing software using C, C++, C#, Java or closely related software languages.
• Developing software in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python.
• Understanding of software systems design, integration, and management.
• United States Citizen as this position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• This position is for a Software Engineer I who has educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of software for mission critical applications.
• Use and provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
• Work closely with other software engineers and systems engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.
• Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team. This includes supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.
