Job summary

RTX in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Software Engineer to support development, test, and other tasks in aircraft embedded software applications. The role interfaces with avionics displays, navigation, and mission planning, requiring strong problem-solving and collaboration with world-class engineers.

The position is 100% onsite in Indianapolis, with opportunities to contribute across the software life cycle from concept to maintenance. Candidates must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in software requirements, design, development, integration, and test.
• Experience with C++, C#, Ada, Python or similar languages.
• Experience in Windows environments.
• Experience with OOP concepts (classes, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation).
• Experience with Git for source code management.
• Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD.
• Experience with software systems design, integration, and management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex software integration problems and provide creative solutions.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers to design user-focused solutions.
• Support all SDLC phases for multiple programs from concept to maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship, reviews, and process improvement.
