Job summary

Airbus seeks an entry-level Embedded Software Engineer for the UAS team in Bingen, WA. You will write and debug C/C++ firmware for microcontroller-based systems in a lab environment, bringing up hardware boards and testing sensor interfaces.

The role involves collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and system engineers on hardware/firmware co-design. Onsite work with lab tasks and field-ready debugging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least six months experience with microcontrollers (Arduino/STM32/ESP32 or similar) in C/C++.
• Hands-on project experience building or programming physical devices.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and debug embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontroller-based systems used on aircraft and ground equipment.
• Assist in bringing up new hardware boards with bench testing and debugging.
• Support integration of embedded devices with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and RF modules.
• Troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues with senior engineers to locate root causes.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for firmware modules and interfaces.
• Support unit and integration testing of embedded systems and build test fixtures.
