Job summary

Systems Technology Inc. in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer - UAS to join the Aerospace division.

You will design, implement, and test embedded C/C++ software for flight control and mission computer systems, and work with CAN/SPI/I2C/UART interfaces alongside hardware engineers. You will participate in flight testing, telemetry analysis, and debugging, ensuring fault-tolerant, high-reliability flight software for next‑generation UAS platforms.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++.
• Strong problem-solving, analysis, and debugging skills.
• U.S. Person status required due to ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded C/C++ software for flight control and mission computer systems
• Develop and debug low-level drivers and communication interfaces between flight controllers, sensors, and actuators
• Support bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting of embedded hardware with other engineers
• Contribute to software architecture for fault-tolerant flight control systems
• Participate in flight testing, telemetry analysis, and post-flight debugging
• Collaborate with GNC engineers to translate control algorithms into deployable flight code
• Maintain code quality through version control, code review, and testing practices
