Job summary

Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most advanced small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for ISTAR on land and at sea.

Nestled in the Columbia River Gorge in Bingen, WA, you will work on embedded firmware for aircraft and ground equipment, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers while leveraging global mobility opportunities and our Leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Six months of experience/internships/coursework programming microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32) in C/C++.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging across hardware/firmware boundary.
• Hands-on project experience building or programming physical devices.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded programming.
• Understanding of basic digital communications (UART, SPI, I2C).
• Ability to read circuit schematics and basic electronics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and debug embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontroller-based systems used on aircraft and ground equipment.
• Assist in bringing up new hardware boards with bench testing and debugging tools.
• Support integration of embedded devices with UART/SPI/I2C/CAN/RF interfaces.
• Troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues with senior engineers to find root causes.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for firmware modules and test procedures.
• Support unit and integration testing of embedded systems and build test fixtures.
