Job summary

WSP seeks an Early Career Electrical Engineer for its Denver, CO office to support the Power Delivery ESSP group. You will perform electrical studies, develop and troubleshoot SCADA systems, and assist with protection, planning, and design tasks for utility and industrial projects.

Qualifications

  • Must be a recent Engineering Graduate or enrolled in engineering
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement in evaluating situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office tools, and spreadsheets
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Within one year of graduation (preferred)
  • GPA above 3.0/4.0 (preferred)
  • EIT certification or pursuit of PE (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies and SEPA/SCADA system work for utility and industrial clients
  • Conduct power system planning studies, load flow, and voltage stability analyses
  • Design studies for grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality
  • Configure network paths for RTUs, HMIs, and protection equipment; travel to sites
  • Develop and test control logic for power systems and SCADA integration
  • Prepare technical reports and assist risk assessments
  • Support project teams across controls, procurement, and permitting
