Job summary

WSP in Denver, CO is seeking a High Voltage Power Systems Engineer to contribute to the ESSP team on projects involving electrical studies, SCADA, and protection.

You will work on protective relaying, power system planning, design studies, networking, and control logic, with travel as needed to project sites. A background in ABET-accredited electrical engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
  • 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience in relevant disciplines.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and project-related issues.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection studies for projects.
  • Support a broad range of activities or specialize in a specific area.
  • Write technical reports with findings and conclusions.
  • Assist with risk identification, design concepts, and remediation activities.
  • Assist with work plan prep and field/site coordination.
  • Travel to project sites for testing, commissioning, and documentation.
