Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer (Finance). Reporting to a Project Manager or Superintendent, you will help manage construction project aspects, coordinate with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site trades, and assist with budget tracking.

The role involves reviewing drawings and specs, supporting schedule development, and helping resolve design and field issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
Knowledge of engineering principles.
Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses.
Proficiency in reading technical specifications, blueprints, manuals and drawings.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors and direct the work of all trades assigned to a construction site.
Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage the project budget.
Review project drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.
Provide field support to construction superintendents to ensure contract compliance and quality.
Document the technical, financial and personnel aspects of each project.
Review each trade's work progress with respect to each project phase.
