Veit is seeking an Estimator to assemble bid proposals by reviewing plans, gathering data, and compiling estimates in HeavyBid. The role involves coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate bids.

Responsibilities include takeoffs, pricing analysis, and documentation. The position requires a degree in CM/CE or related experience, and willingness to travel up to 25% for pre-bid activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or 0–2 years bidding/estimating experience, or 5 years related field experience.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with estimating software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and bid documents to understand project scopes and requirements.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and preliminary estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and compare vendor/subcontractor pricing; support bid packages and proposals.
• Identify gaps or concerns in estimates and elevate for review.
• Maintain accurate estimate files, pricing records, and bid results.
• Collaborate with estimating, PM, and operations to support timely bids.
