Job summary

Veit & Co is seeking an estimator to compile data for bids, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare preliminary estimates across labor, materials, and subcontracted work. You will gather supplier pricing, organize bid packages, and assist with pre-bid meetings and site visits.

The role requires a construction management or civil engineering background, strong analytical skills, and experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or 0–2 years’ bidding/estimating experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
• Experience with construction bidding, project management software, and routing bid packages.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to define scope.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and preliminary estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and compare vendor/subcontractor pricing; manage bid packages and supporting docs.
