Zusammenfassung

VEIT is seeking an Estimator to gather, calculate, and compile data for bid proposal estimates, maintaining current price information from suppliers and contractors. You will create bids in HeavyBid under general supervision to deliver timely proposals for owners.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specs, preparing takeoffs and preliminary estimates, soliciting pricing, and assisting with bid packages. Travel up to 25% may be required for pre‑bid and site visits.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from a four‑year college.
• 0–2 years’ experience in construction bidding and estimating projects, or 5 years related field experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with estimating software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to collaborate across levels and with clients, vendors, and partners.
• Ability to adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Aufgaben

• Review plans, specs, addenda, and bid documents to understand project scopes.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and preliminary estimates for labor, materials, equipment, trucking, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing; understand participation requirements.
• Assist with preparing estimates, bid packages, proposals, and documentation using estimating systems.
• Identify scope gaps and estimating concerns and elevate for review.
• Maintain accurate estimate files, pricing records, and historical cost information.
• Participate in bid reviews, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project turnover activities.
• Collaborate with estimating, project management, and operations to support timely bids.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
