Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Junior IT Configuration Analyst to help keep the CMDB accurate and reliable in a federal IT environment. You will collect and validate CI records across infrastructure and applications, supporting governance needs.

Under supervision, you will assist with configuration audits, data quality checks, and analysis that enable incident, change, and problem management. This role emphasizes data integrity and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0–3 years IT operations, service management, asset management, or configuration management experience.
• Foundational understanding of ITIL service asset and configuration management concepts.
• Hands-on experience with ITSM or CMDB tools to maintain records and support processes.
• Current secret security clearance or higher.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate CI records in the CMDB by collecting, verifying, and updating data.
• Perform day-to-day CMDB maintenance, including creating/updating CIs and reconciling data.
• Assist with configuration audits and certifications; document discrepancies and coordinate remediation.
• Use ITSM/CMDB tools to navigate CI structures, run queries, and support impact analysis.
• Review change records/incidents to ensure CIs are correctly linked for traceability.
• Contribute to CMDB data quality by monitoring completeness and correctness.
