Job summary

KLJ is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to assist in data collection, analysis, and documentation for project development, design, and construction. You will support research, site observations, and permit conformance.

The role involves basic engineering tasks, collaboration with teams, and adherence to safety and company policies. Travel may be required and the position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical mindset.
• Foundational understanding of design/build concepts.
• Awareness of environmental/construction laws and record-keeping.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for engineers and non-engineers.
• Attention to detail with ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency in technical writing and common office tools.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.
• Ability to adapt to project schedules that may extend beyond a 40-hour week.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, GIS, and other sources for project development.
• Support basic civil engineering work including research and observations of site conditions and compliance with permits.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety-focused operating strategies.
• Verify site characteristics and assist with environmental, design, and construction issues.
• Generate complete, accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and site logs.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures for data, studies, and surveys.
