Job summary

KLJ is seeking a Civil Engineer/Field Engineer to support construction, transportation, municipal, and structural projects across the Midwest. You will collect data from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and field notes to support design and construction.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, strong research and communication skills, the ability to work independently or in teams, travel as needed, and compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Basic understanding of design/build processes and concepts.
• Knowledge of environmental and construction laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist data collection from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and maps for project development and construction.
• Perform entry-level engineering tasks supporting design requirements and safety considerations.
• Prepare documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs.
• Adhere to KLJ safety guidelines, processes, and ethics.
• Travel as project needs and responsibilities require.
