Job summary

KLJ seeks an entry-level Civil Engineer to assist in data collection, site condition assessments, and basic design tasks for project development and construction. You will help verify site characteristics, prepare technical documentation, and support safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, good analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and in teams. Occasional travel may be required; a robust benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Basic understanding of design/build processes.
• Familiarity with environmental and construction laws and regulations.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and design tools.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site surveys, GIS data, and maps for project development.
• Conduct basic professional civil engineering work to assess site conditions and conformance with rules and permits.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on environmental and construction issues.
• Produce complete, accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and logs.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures and complete assigned training.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed by business needs.
