Job summary

KLJ is seeking an entry-level to mid-level Civil Engineer to support remediation, permitting, and construction of infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors. You will assist with data analysis, site assessments, and reporting, while collaborating with engineers and planners on civil projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, FE completion, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Some travel may be involved as project needs arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3+ years post-education experience.
• FE exam completed (Fundamentals of Engineering).
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, design/build, and permitting.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from site, surveys, GIS data for project development and construction.
• Assess site conditions and conformance with applicable rules and permits.
• Support development of modelling techniques, design requirements, and sustainable solutions in civil design.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on environmental, design, and construction issues.
• Write technical reports with sketches, calculations, and spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and assist with field work and permitting.
