Job summary

KLJ seeks an entry-level civil engineering assistant to support design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects. You will help collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and plans, ensuring documentation is accurate and aligns with industry standards for safety and functionality.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering with 0–1+ years of experience, strong communication, and basic proficiency in design software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
0–1+ years of relevant post-education experience.
Strong research skills and analytical mindset.
Basic understanding of design/build processes.
Knowledge of environmental/construction laws and regulatory requirements.
Effective communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Familiarity with design software and office tools.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, assist data collection, compilation, and analysis from site sources (surveys, GIS data, blueprints, etc.).
Assist with basic professional civil engineering work and observations of site conditions to ensure compliance with rules and permits.
Perform routine engineering tasks and provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations.
Verify site characteristics and provide technical input on environmental, design, and construction issues.
Create complete, accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs.
Adhere to safety guidelines and site procedures, including data and surveys.
Complete assigned task training and develop professional conduct per policies.
Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and project needs.
Take on additional duties as required by business needs.
