Job summary

KLJ is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to assist with data collection and analysis from surveys, GIS, and site records for project development and design. You will perform basic professional civil engineering tasks under general supervision and contribute to documentation and compliance efforts.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, possess strong research and communication skills, and are capable of working both independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of design/build processes.
• Knowledge of environmental and construction regulations.
• Strong communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with technical writing and common office software.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.
• Ability to adapt to project schedules including extended weeks.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from surveys, GIS data, maps, and other matrices for project development.
• Conduct research and observations of site conditions to determine conformance with rules and permits.
• Provide entry-level technical support on design requirements and safety considerations.
• Verify site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance on environmental and construction issues.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field notebooks/logs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site procedures, including data and surveys.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed by business.
