Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an entry-level estimator to support heavy civil projects in and around Anchorage and Fairbanks, AK. This role provides technical engineering and cost information to ensure compliance with engineering standards across projects.

You will assist with controls, interpret drawings, and prepare documentation for bids and progress reporting, while collaborating with teams to optimize schedules, costs, and material requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products and AGTEK Take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret designs/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Prepare and disseminate records and sketches to support estimating and progress tracking.
• Provide technical support on material controls, delivery dates, schedules to minimize costs.
• Develop data for quantities, material prices, labor costs, and equipment for estimates and bids.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
