Job summary

Robert Peccia & Associates (RPA), an employee-owned civil engineering firm based in Montana, is seeking an Engineering Designer – Entry-Level Civil Engineer. This full-time position offers a base salary of $65,000-$80,000 and opportunities across our Montana offices and technical groups.

As an Engineering Designer you will collaborate with experienced engineers, project managers, designers, and staff on infrastructure projects throughout Montana and the region, gaining hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• EI certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• 0–4 years of engineering, design, construction, internship, or related experience.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering principles and design and construction practices.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and assist with technical recommendations.
• Assist with planning documents, engineering reports, technical memoranda, design documentation, and project correspondence.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in data collection, site visits, construction observation, inspections, and field activities.
• Assist with construction documentation, contract administration, record drawings, and project closeout activities.
• Develop technical expertise through hands-on project experience, mentoring, training, and professional involvement.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
