Robert Peccia & Associates (RPA) invites recent graduates and early-career engineers to join our employee-owned civil engineering firm across Montana. As an Engineering Designer, you’ll work with experienced professionals on infrastructure projects, across transportation, water and wastewater, and more.

You’ll gain hands-on experience through planning, design, and construction phases, developing technical and professional skills to advance within RPA’s collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• EI certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• 0–4 years of engineering, design, construction, internship, or related experience.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering principles and design and construction practices.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work as required by projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and assist with technical recommendations.
• Assist with planning documents, engineering reports, design documentation, and project correspondence.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and agencies in multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in data collection, site visits, construction observation, inspections, and field activities.
• Assist with construction documentation, contract administration, record drawings, and project closeout.
